Okay so my rough understanding of Pastis ability for everyone who’s confused is that he plays a game of Rock Paper Scissors after achieving the understanding of someone elses ability. Once he does, he can either manifest an attack based on what choice he made or copy their abilities for a short time seeing as in the before fight he seemed to copy that guys drunk power.
He used paper for the duo by targeting the puppeteer and copied the sculptors abilities, able to take the two out at once duo to the close proximity. Thats my rough idea anyway.

I can’t wait until we get done with this “condition” ability. It’s so confusing, especially when I’m turning off my brain to read.

I really don’t understand Pastis ability… His ability was “Rock, Paper, Scissors” and the condition to activating it from what I understood before was that he has to meet the condition for his opponent’s ability right? So the “talking to your opponent” condition is just something that Kim Taewon concluded on his own, yeah? But even then, if Pastis forces his opponent into rock, paper, scissors, doesn’t that mean he could still lose?
If they didn’t know about his ability beforehand and he activated it during a fight, then it’s probably pretty safe to say that no one would do scissors right? Can’t imagine anyone would go through the motions of making the scissors with their hands randomly during battle unless it’s some sort of naruto ninjutsu type attack. So wouldn’t paper be the best at any given time? Either win against a fist/rock or tie with a palm strike/paper. If he wins no matter what the opponent chooses, then it’s not really a rock, paper, scissors game :I
