I hate to break it to you all, but that practice still exists in the Middle East, and well…Africa in general. Asia too, it’s called a “Societal Caste System”, to make it socially acceptable. Just cause the people in the first world don’t hear about it or learn about it in their ivory towers, doesn’t mean it ISN’T HAPPENING. Seriously, the authors have taken a nasty subject, and sorta kinda almost sanitized it enough to make it presentable as a “Disagreeable” subject in a Manga/Fantasy world that a modern “From our world” character can object to. Please, your comments and distaste for the topic are laudable, but never forget, we are only a couple hundred years past growing from that state in society ourselves. And even less than that when women (like myself) could even be considered “Human” or “Intelligent” or “Reliable” enough to be able to VOTE. (not that the voting choices are really savory, but still. choice, and being able to are key).
I still see it happen in our society, and it sickens me.
i dont know why the japanese authors keep making these slave arcs they make me want to put a bullet in all the slavers the way they accept slavery as a way of life maybe next chapter she destroys the kingdom and slavery along with it
