I think what the sacrifice saw what she wanted to see, her idea of the Lord of Ashes. That’s why the MC can confuse everyone in thinking they are seeing someone else. They all see him as the person they want to see, not as who he is.
so he takes the form of whatever they summon?
so if they summon a giant maid cat girl?
