It might not have been a climatic ending but it’s a perfect one which really shows how the writers wanted to present this story since it’s a story about learning to accept and move past your own past which is shown multiple times throughout the story like the paintings or them multiple times stating that the here and now is what matters. Him moving forward and getting to let the “sins” (the arm markings) go in the end truly has great symbolism this really is a perfect ending for this story specifically…
