Really early on I wondered (specifically after the scavengers attacked him) why he acted like he’d lived through hell in his life just because he was in Africa. I’m very happy with this explanation and it makes his character make so much more sense. like why he was somehow so skilled with a knife just from being in the military and the trust issues of course.
