Is this the only way the author knows how to write villains? I really like this series, especially the art style, but it falls short in so many technical aspects. Everything turns into melodrama and Team Rocket-like villains, and I mean that in the bad way, because Team Rocket from Pokémon actually works thanks to their charisma, chemistry, comedic timing, and self-awareness. They’re intentionally repetitive and theatrical, but they’re entertaining enough to justify it. The villains here just feel shallow, repetitive, and artificially dramatic. They keep showing up to force conflict, but they never evolve, never feel threatening, and never become genuinely interesting, so instead of actual tension it just feels like the same recycled cycle over and over again.
