That’s interesting. Whilst alchemists aren’t powerful like Hayan, they’re rare and barely seen, as they said “seldom seen alchemists.” Also, that flashback to those monsters with white masks, found they have been homunculi?
I wonder if the MC was the main villain in the regressors first go round. It would make sense if he didn’t know the MC’s face if he were an alchemist and used homunculi etc. I mean, his intelligence just keeps going up and up. I don’t actually think I’ve seen intelligence higher than his, apart from maybe one.
Or, if the MC was the villain, the regressor may have known his face, but possibly knew that there was a catalyst for it (poor treatment by a guild?), and he’s sticking with him to help him avoid that?
It’s just a shot in the dark really, but it’s still my head-canon😂
