Slavery isnt necessarily evil…. abusing you slave is.
The core idea was to implement a system where someones debt could be paid off without bloodshed.
That said, just because someone owes you a debt doesnt mean you have to treat them inhumanely like an object.
But… even though slavery isnt necessarily evil… freeing a slave is without doubt good.
btw… I was refering to slavery everwhere else around the world…. that shit that happened in america was straight up from hell
“Slavery” as an idea is not necessarily evil, the way it has been implemented throughout history is what makes it evil, also without magic or technology sufficiently advanced enough to ensure obedience and loyalty and also not allow corruption of the system slavery will never be viable. if it were possible to implement hypothetically that only criminals of a certain caliber would be turned to slaves and their basic needs where met and it was a public institution that controlled without all the torture and corruption that usually come with it in manga, with a bunch of other rules and regulations then i could see it possibly working. and yes im working in fantasy land rules with absolutes. IRL human nature would more than likely keep it from ever being a non evil practice.
i personality said is different type of slavery some good some bad u dont have like to all them. like this world law is different there aren’t like prison in most of type manga so there have to do community service task for people who might break the law this could be kept line with slavery and there do it for flew week or month depending on charge. another example i think it was in “Tensei Kizoku No Isekai Boukenroku ~Jichou Wo Shiranai Kamigami No Shito~” where people would sell them self into slavery to get given like a job for people who want to buy slave or to look after those who had lost limbs which these one could conceded to be understandable. but then u have one selling human beast men elf dwarf and so on into slavery for no reason just because u capture and want to make money. which one most manga tend to go for illegal selling them to creepy who do terrible thing to them being torture kill or worst. which are obv slavery. so like there good and bad slavery u dont have like them but there not all same

I heard the new company in charge of this series had the manga artist to make shorter chapters but release more than longer chapters and wait months for new chapters
thats why the chapters are so short

well now slavery is controlled by those who has money and power
rich people can hire people and boss them boss them around and overwork them modern slavery i might say but better, without the restriction of chackles and living quarters that unsuitable for living people. and for poor or working class citizen the current system is better as u get what the job u needs to do lucky if get paid for overtime
