I dont mind a dumb mc if it werent for the chapter where he deduced its all a plot from the noble faction without a shred of evidence and the knight called him intelligent. 
Be consistent, dont switch it around to fit your plot…
Clearly he was taken in by the nobles and ordered to kill her to move the pacifist faction into fighting against the crown in the original story…
How is he not getting that?
That scene with the Saint dead in his arms is more annoying than Narutos swing…
