This is one of those moments that, if it were a game, and you were given the option to WRITE what you think the situation is all about (rather than choose from a list) — you’d be stumped, practically forever.
The galaxy-brain connections that one has to make, to reach the same conclusion the MC does, just feels borderline impossible.

You’d have to be suspicious of everyone from the get-go, make exhaustive notes, review them all the time…It just basically feels impossible, without having information from the author’s POV.
This is like seeing the answer to an extremely complicated calculus problem, where you have to go: “how the ***** was I supposed to know to do all of that?”

I digress, the point is: these situations almost always feel underwhelming for me, because it just doesn’t feel real that the MC could just come to the CONVICTION that these 2 are demon worshippers, and became sick because of some unknown power the lady has. How the f*** is he so convinced?

Well, whatever, onto the next chapter.

Phew, author provides! That menacing aura pays off. No obvious goofy portrayal that already betrays how hard they’re going to lose as you see so often in other stories.

I forgot… MC has read the script right? That’s a baller move making it seem like your so smart when your just a story geek.
