I still don’t get why MC is so hell bent on using only fire magic. He has memories from japan right? He should have plenty of examples from TV and manga to base his magic on and yet he doesn’t. Just strikes me as dumber than he needs to be.

To be fair they are kids fighting aqainst a giant monster. Running away would be the more realistic choice.
