There’s a lot of speculation here as it’s not stated clearly in this manga what the 40% mean.
Like in the US predatory loans it could mean weekly. Like the default it could mean per annum. It could mean over the whole run time (2 years). Or monthly.
40% over the whole run time is very reasonable. 40% per annum effectively is still ok, since it is a high risk, high reward investment. 40% per month would already be illegal in Germany, and start a crime investigation.
40% percent is crazy. But the Mc wants to invest 100 million and gets another 20 bil.
To lend that much to a high school student just because of a crazy idea.
