Ok, but honestly neither the dad nor mc are wrong here? Like from the dads point of view this random stranger is in his house, getting cozy with his kids, while NO adults are around. It’s not unreasonable for the dad to not recognize mc from way before due to him not actually being there to see him.
Mc even recognized that he probably overstepped by showing up at the house, even if he was friends with the son beforehand. It’s still the house of a potential customer/investor/whatever.
The situation absolutely could have been handled better. But this is probably one of the better outcomes. Him not immediately calling the police on the ‘intruder’ and instead just telling him to leave could instead have been a fist fight in front of his kids. (He would probably lose obviously, but it would still spur the relationship to a closer to irreparable degree.)
