Oh, saviour syndrome coupled with superiority complex and possessiveness. That’s a holy trinity! A trademark of low self-esteem, underdeveloped sense of self and trauma. I feel bad for the guy, hope he gets better.
His personality doesn’t seem completely rotten, he just overcompensates a lot. Probably due to emotional neglect or being forced to care for parents/siblings at young age. He probably only sees value in himself when he saves others, which allows him to feel morally upright and be in control (because trust is a myth to him due to having no one to rely on)

the more you dig, the more you fall, baek-san 
it feels kinda bad for the seniors of the sect to get no respect and recognition after a freaking kid just appeared… even in murim standards its very basic manhwa.. everything just revolves around the mc.. no importance to any side characters… in this regard “the northern blade” and “nano machine “ are far better..
