We don’t know about the economy in this story and how much buying power he gets for 3 million (about 2000€ now)
But if the association has basically the monopoly over gates and could just sell the magic Chrystals and auction the less profitable gates off to other hunters they’d be swimming in money and could pay their hunters very well..
in comparison to guilds that have to buy gates from the auction, pay their staff and the hunters, the association would be in much more profitable position to attract hunters that are willing to risk their lifes for cash
