The story is interesting but God are these characters one dimensional.
The duchess poisoning both of them and killing the duke’s bloodline is something she would never get away with. She’s royalty so she wouldn’t get executed but bannished to some rural manor and loose her position.
So this is dumb asf.
The MC’s mother is a peasant who has dealth with nobles, she would be very wary and scared of this invitation.
Yet she’s all ‘oh you’re not mad I slept with your husband at all and are threathening your royal Highness sons position and wanna be friends ?Wonderful let’s all get along ~’
It makes no sense for her to be this gullible and not one bit self aware.
But she’s an MC’s mother therefore her only personality trait is kind/pure. That’s litteraly it.
And then the MC has no standing yet talks to ppl like he’s royalty so he’s always getting into fights.
Then idk what this guy even is, an aide ? Captain of something?
He has two personality traits : obsessed by etiquette and impulse to try to behead ppl when outraged.
Like how did he manage to get to this position when he falls for provocation every 5mins
