Why do people always whine “gay” when the manwha explores the depths of male comraderie? What exactly is so gay about socially marginalized young men proving their worth by their most excellent wielding of a sword (or spear, or any other phallus, I mean manly weapon) in a sweaty, confrontation with other men? Is it the parts where they pause their bodily clash, chiseled abs on full display, for long, heartfelt, proclamations of appreciation, respect, and borderline obsession while maintaining an aggressive amount of eye contact. Is it the sparkly magic power that can only be acquired through the gentle yet firm guidance of an older and more experienced gentleman?
