in medieval times, spears were used much more than swords, due to range, so go figure. in all fairness, swords were used, but normally as more backup weapons.

This world is quite primitive if sword is the staple weapon to infuse with mana. While bow, blunt weapons and other types of blade or polearms is also a great choice, if not better. Either some mf destroyed every document related to mana infuse on different weapons and only kept sword technique intact, or it just too primitive to branch out to more complex and diverse than it is right now

It still irks me that they say spears are deemed as “toys” I mean it would have been better if they at least regarded it as a “footman/soldier’s” weapon and put swordsmanship/fencing as a higher class weapon/art as a more realistic way to discriminate because spears are one of the most important weapons when fighting an army that has a cavalry not to mention polearms are practical against many fights especially against people and particularly ones that use sheilds as you can snag their leg and pull them towards you with the downside is that its hard to use in tight spaces.

That is dumb, the stick is the artifact? Why not the spear head, and to be able to use it’s full power it needs the strongest pole and combine it or something. Lol
