While I don’t want Lee to die, it would be interesting to see the reactions of the father as he realized that the exorcists were face to face with the “spider” but there was absolutely no reaction at all to the anti-demon effects

so he wants to discard of the demon for whom he used hes son as sacrifice and only after literally one use. I dunno should i call this decision smart or stupid, seems like both
