MC not gaining many skills does balance his infinite level cheat, but still, status effects should not be so unbelievably overpowered against opponents close to 400 times your level!

There does not appear to be level scaling. So he does not do more damage JUST because he is higher level, otherwise he could simply ignore all incoming attacks since with level scaling he would take virtually no damage. There also does not appear to be an XP penalty type level scaling so something worth 1000 xp is always worth 1000 xp regardless of level difference.
