All three events are likely connected. The kingdom war, the high level demon where they just came from, and the guild war.
I’m definitely getting bad vibes from that princess. However, it seems clear what’s going to happen—he’ll end up helping her, likely justifying it as a chance to find information that could help Salvos return home, given the connection to demons.
I really like how we (or at least I) genuinely can’t tell if the princess is really trying to manipulate Daniel, or if she just wants his help to save her kingdom!
I do completely believe that she used to manipulate and use David for her own gain and I find it suspicious how she was trying to drag Salvos into the discussion to get Danial back, but I can also see her having change over however many years Daniel spend away from the kingdom, especially with the war and her people in this grave danger (if the war is actually happening, who knows) and just being desperate for any help she can get
Like I think it can very well turn out to be either option and that’s one of they many things I love about this manhwa.
Yes, she seems very suspicious, especially with Daniels opinion of her, but that’s just it, we are only getting information on her past self and a person that personally wronged a character we as readers are attached to and trust, which makes out view of her almost just as bias as Daniel’s and Slavos’.
It’s just really well done and I can’t wait to see what’s actually going on with her and how the story will develop with that info/new ‘quest’.
