They just kind of hand wave how he got control of all the US satellites. I mean, setting aside all the civilian owned satellites, each branch of the military has their own satellites, along with the ones that they share. Plus the ones we share with other nations.
And while I suppose some states may secede, I find it rather laughable that all 50 states would. There is simply no advantage in doing so. Especially if they are combating monster attacks internally within the country. I mean, the more you think about it, the less sense that it makes. That’d be like saying, “hey everybody, let’s all cut our own throats!”
