all this makes me think of was how i once found 1 of only 100 legend grade item in one of the old mmorpg i used to play. only reason i found it was because i made a huge mistake while fighting a boss and found a hidden area only accessable during the bossfight.

to get there you had to be in the single digits of hp, get to a corner of the map with traps that will kill you and then not touch a single one, this was normally dont to have the boss take the hits and kill it by most players but i didn’t put his hp down enough. thanks to it still being alive and me in the single digits it started a new thing and i died not long after. for the next few days i started to try and beat it until i reached the end where you move over a bridge and he falls in leaving you in a room with a pedastle holding a piece of armor, a fuck tone of healing item and once you go to the next room you could go down to see the boss again laying down ready to die.

i told a friend who tried it as well after that and got a unique grade instead for the armor and was way weaker but still usful. it then did the rounds for most people but i was really lucky with that one. intended way to kill the boss was not to use the traps
