If he feels like he won’t be able to survive if he doesn’t know elements and magic. Why doesn’t he just read a book. It’s probably common too, considering merman scales are common and they are used for water stuff. It’s probably just hard to forge it. It seems his abilities have something to do with easily being able to create things or just instictively knowing how to merge different items. But can’t he just read a book on the plant life? Then instantly be able to make super strong potions because he now knows what he needs for it. It’s not like he invented all this stuff he’s selling
