The water should be fresh (piranha as well as crayfish live in fresh water) and all the crops have been watered by it. If it was salt water as he implies while talking about “the salty taste of seawater soaked into them” makes no sense. Saltwater would kill crops and be undrinkable for MC and his bunny workers. If the pond just turned into seawater, they will be in trouble for drinking water and crop water. I know this is a magical tower but they are going to have to explain how the MC will survive if the water turns saltwater since he is not magical nor would he be able to survive drinking that without distilling it first with a device.
