Prediction….
The Basara are after her spirits (maybe) so the do something to take away all her spirits or at least most of them, except maybe the Mother spirit. This will obviosly make the Basara a lot more powerful, but in turn it will also extend her life by a few years lets say 20 years in total. This will allow for the Miko to be born and be at the right age to fufill his duty, then she won’t have to carry the spirit within her anymore
