Ok, my last page comment was answered here. Lu Shu was intentionally not wanting to kill Xue because he intended to harvest negative emotion from him by torturing him with slaps and groin punches for a while. At least the author didn’t forget how his gourd worked though I still think that first name call would have broken his neck as it showed him facing away but we’ll pretend his grand master status let him turn his body fast enough to prevent the full 180 effect and just gave him a really pained neck. Love that he can now collect spirits in the gourd and give to Xiaoyu for upgrades. Though he used to do that with the Dog sword also for a single spirit collection.
