Thorn Princess raises the death flag of hitman last mission? Maybe the Garden sets up this mission to eliminate her, seeing her as a compromised asset? I wouldn’t be surprised if Loid discovers her skill set and recruits her.

Angel Anya has 2 hair buns, just like in the flashback from c01, and she’s considerate of Yor’s feelings. Devil Anya seems to represent her selfish, manipulative tendencies, especially with her telepathy. Notice the sparkles and the tell-tale sound effects around Devil’s horns. This visually communicates both Anya’s fear of others discovering her powers and being seen as a “monster” and the morally questionable aspect of her powers to manipulate others. Angel Anya reflects her sweet, caring, innocent side. Her background is filled with big sparkles, but when Devil Anya decides against going on the cruise, her background turns dark – just like Devil Anya – with only a tiny speck of light. Just an interpretation.

So, canonically, they use the lack of a hitman job as an excuse for not showing a Yor arc until now

Except for the part where this is a terrible plan that sucks and makes no sense, it’s great.
There’s only one reason yor’s successful as an assassin, she can kill everybody there. She wears no disguise and engages in melee combat making her a terrible bodyguard.
I suppose that Assassin’s mentor will go against her family in the end.
