Why didn’t he just shadow walk to the edge and leave? Use his wings and fly off? Doesn’t dark magic have any corrosion or magic/life leaching effects? Dark swamps to reduce agi? Seems like a lot of lost opportunities.

He could have created an artifact with his “weapon craft” skill. If he was able to make clothes, he probably would have been able to create a sheet with a magic circle made of fabric.
