Sword Sheath's Child - Chapter 14
Comments for chapter "Chapter 14"
I’m not normal, if my first thought when I saw the last panel was “Hmm I wonder what dandelions mean in Korean floriography”
…Anyway:
In Korea, the dandelion symbolizes hope, resilience, and faithful love. Often representing the ability to thrive in harsh conditions, it is seen as a flower of strength, while its white seed heads symbolize wishes and new beginnings. It also has a, though uncommon, reputation for representing “loyal love“
So… let’s analyze, since Bira and Tanyu are togheter there, it definitly means there’s a deep bond between the two of them, the familial kind, loyal and faithful.
For Bira, Tanyu reminds him of his grandpa as a person who’s kind to him but also treates him like a kid (in difrence to the bears, who treated him like the hunter of the group), and it is also an opritunity for him to work through the loss of his grandpa. As well as, though he might not realise it yet, Tanyu is his first friend. Obviously Bira’s strong, so the flower of strenght works.
In Tanyu’s case, Bira reminds him of his friend from childhood, someone who seems pure, is young and kinda reckless, someone whom he feels he has a responsibility to protect, or take care of. And he hopes to find his friend, he persevers in his search, that is both resilience and strenght.
They both lived in harsh enviroments, one in the mountains, the other on the battlefield honning themself nolens volens. What is cool is that you can not only see, that it is about the two of them, but also about each of them as an individual.
anyway…. flowers are cool. I’m off to read the next chapter.
depends if his identity is revealed or not

Damn. Seems like the grandpa doesn’t have a good time bruh
