I regret what I said last chapter 
If he’s killed two already, then there’s still one more besides him and Nie Li. There’s five in total, not four. The fifth one might be the one burned by golden flame inside Goddess’s soul realm at that time with Nie li, but maybe not. He was just a sliver of soul remnant from the time he battled somebody else for that fire pagoda (supposedly, we know differently), which means he could’ve been either this old man’s brother, or the person from the Ancestral God Land and old man only thinks he killed him taking with him the other person’s power with the majority of their soul realm, not noticing that he had split off a soul sliver to preserve himself. That would also explain why Nie Li didn’t kill him and absorb his power. Fire Goddess being the fifth inheritor would also explain why, assuming that one can become an inheritor by absorbing another’s soul realm. But we’ve seen no indication of that yet.
