The magic, monsters, and fantastical creatures are more grounded in reality than the self-c***blocking, self-defeating behavior of the protagonist. At this point, it’s not entertaining anymore.
Honestly it ticks me off that manga writers do this. The part about him wanting to be with only his true love and saving himself for her first I get completely. It is so stupid that he would keep saying no. It doesn’t need to be shown that it happened. Being implied is fine but this type bullshit is so irritating.
