Ugh, the last chapters hit hard, very hard. I must absolutely applaud the author for what he did here, others would often take the lazy, easy road, like letting the MC just go without telling or have the parents say “Doesn’t matter, you’ll always be our beloved son” after 5 minutes.
Art has been conflicted for a long time over telling them the truth, and now, at this crucial point, he had an actual reason, ending this inner conflict so he gets the best chance to protect them all. His parents also deserved to know and reacted in the most realistic way possible, which you don’t see often in such stories.
For me this is part of great storytelling, giving it even more depth.
We’re at a very dark point now but it can only get brighter again and I’m excited for what’s to come.

this chapter made me feel like this:
tbh this chapter made me realise something. If you watched/read the summer hikaru died. the concept of isekai through reincarnation/soul transfer is just like this. the only difference is isekai is caught up in fun adventures, which hide how what really happened is someone took over someone elses body. If you think the parents reactions are really wrong, its really not, they are making normal human reactions.
Gotta make a new child to make up for the one you think you never had. I be a little sad if I came back with a new child.
