It’s still nerve-wracking seeing the war play out, even as a novel reader… Trust me when I tell you, the real shit is only starting to happen, the chapters until now were more like a prelude for what’s to come.
Frankly, at this point I don’t see how they can win the war. The other side feels too far ahead.

We all know the new scythe is his bro and we also know he’s been experimented on. I think the reason we are getting the flash backs on Arthur’s past is because he went through a similar brainwashing indoctrination. Also we’ll see he probably lost a friend before and so he’s especially not wanting to give up another one.
