Just seeing the grim reaper having an ulterior motive gives me the impression that either he isn’t sacrificing nearly as much of his life as he was told he is, he is already dead and merely being used as a vessel to act in the mortal realm by the grim reaper, or the grim reaper simply wants to have some fun and gave him some tickets for the hell of it.
