Seeing it coming and being able to counter it are 2 different matters. It’s sorta like chess, sometimes you see the inevitable end, but no matter what moves you take, the only thing you change is how fast you lose. In the case just now, i guess he saw it coming but had no better plan than to intimidate the male lead into defending and giving him time to rest
