I can understand that the pacing might be fast for some. He has 3 years left to save Ashton and he needs to grow stronger through the academy. It’s a slow intro to his background but all the good stuff usually starts when the MC goes to an academy or something.
The pace is fast it should be fine if it doesn’t skip or doesn’t explain important stuff. Maybe all this stuff will be explained later. Tho I feel like you need to know these types of story to know what’s really going on for now

First of all, that bear guy is not MCs father. Bear guy’s son died because of shitty parenting.
Second is Dion is shown as level 42. it should at least mean something like longer energy some power etc… he did not even get to use his sword aura/magic or something. Could have explained it somewhere.

At the same time, we all know how generic it is for the first few levels after reincarnation or transmigration. The real adventure begins when MC goes outside however the first few chaps is a good place to introduce the main goal and setting the universe and plot in general.
This feels very rushed to me but it allowed the author to skip the generic and boring part. I’m expecting the pace will decrease a big once the adventure begins and more focuses on the plot and plan MC wants to follow.
I pray that it won’t be a childish fight every chapter at the academy.

The academy trope… I do miss the random go into a forest and punch monsters till you get past the ping pong level to the ding dong realm but still a hundred million levels from the dong gong realm.
