Good or bad, I’d rather the alchemist be honest about his intentions. He might appear innocent to some readers, but it’s very obvious he could figure out from the armor that she was in there when he decided to look inside, and chose to hide behind the door to not be seen while peeking. Whether or not he thought she might be in a towel, underwear, or swimsuit, or even naked, intentionally going to look inside is a low-class move.
