He should just tell her the truth. There are literally millions of people watching them at the moment. There’s no way for them to get privacy without using his darkness and people would still know that they were doing it even if he does use it in this instance. If she doesn’t believe him, there must be some truth saying magic somewhere. He should find it and convince her.
He should also tell her about his friend and what happened to her. She appears to be a decent person. He should be straight up with her so that she’s not led on by his divided loyalties. Besides, it’s time for him to stop running from his problems. He can regain his former confidence if he brings his friend back to life.
