A different white lie is right under their nose lol. They should have reasoned that the so called “national hero” intends to sacrifice his own blood instead (purely for MC but lets omit that part). Due to that, he becomes worn out, yet he is still determined for all of them to escape. He is so adamant that MC had to put him to sleep for a while. He was able to do that because of the hero was totally worn out.
The fact that an F-rank was able to knock him out means another blood depletion could be dangerous, hence MC’s action would be justified. It would also raise the reputation of their “national hero” so there wouldn’t be any problem.
