Merlin is definitely in the right, he isn’t just an adventure, but a demon king. He knew it was wrong to decide the course of human history with a sweep of his sword.
He said he’d consider it on a mission by mission bases with the guild, but he shouldn’t solve all the problems in the kingdom. Stopping an imposter fake ruler is different from a legitimate rebellion.
Half the time he has only agreed as an escort mission or for his wife.
