maybe the demon isn’t dead, it’s a higher dimension been so he had to make an incarnation to descend to the lower world. he may have cut a part of his soul to make the clone but after its defeat, he was hurt and has been recovering since then to recover from his missing soul.
The mc is just a trace of his remanent soul which entered another being.
Which means we may see a battle in the future between the human martial artist mc and the demonic God of War mc
