There was a point earlier in the story(don’t remember when) where someone refers to the siblings as special and decides to keep track of both of them, and also giving us a slight hint of their parents aswell.
So this is not just the author pulling it all out of his ass, it has been “somewhat” established, even though it was barely rememberable. I’m surprised I did as I’m rereading
