My criticism is that this story sucks. Philosophically, I almost agree with him but the execution is just blah. He mocks the heroes for wanting peace, assuming that their kingdom will turn on them just as his kingdom did, but the silly part is:
He has exactly the same problem.
Once he’s gone a new demon king will arise regardless. So all of his actions are just as futile as the heroes.
As a transexual character said in a MUCHbetter manhwa (Skeleton Soldier Couldnt Protect the Dungeon): you’re just a poor, sad man after you didn’t find satisfaction after you got your revenge. Now you hate all X.
What his kingdom did to him and his legacy was unconscionable. That had nothing to do with the citizens, however. It also has nothing to do with why he became a murder hobo. He keeps finding razor thin excuses to start wars with other kingdoms and, not unlike Overlord (which it borrows heavily from), it is a one dimensional power fantasy with no end in sight.
