So the game was delayed from 2069 (nice) to 2071 and possibly more because they couldn’t completely code the game, they accidentally gave all authority to the Demon King, while he still was not self aware?

If you look into modern games they have way more data than code. All those writers, artists, voice actors and designers vs just a dozen or so of coders. Code is essential, but it’s just a tiny bit of a game.
