I have little doubt she planned this all out to crush Gazaru, steal his entire life, his business, and the entire market from right under him, by inciting him into making a stupid mistake.
Looking at this scene, she knew exactly what kind of influence that church had, which is why she endeared herself to them, and what more, bringing an unscrupulous counterfeiter and racketeer who deals in intellectual property theft and manufacturing of contraband, to the attention of authorities. At least, that’s how the Guild will see it.
Along with her hand-picked customers, she has stealthily assembled a considerable power base, planting her firm and herself in a very secure societal position within the Empire. This could make many believe she’s dangerous, but I’d say the smart ones will want to have someone like her on their side.
I can’t wait to see her long game, when she’s ready to turn her fangs on the old Kingdom.
