I don’t get why all these people in the comments are calling the MC a spineless coward.
The evidence shows that the nobles of this universe are rank obsessed shitbags who wouldn’t hesitate to harshly punish any hint of resistance from the lower classes.
In that environment, the MC is wise to keep his head down until he can extract his mother from their clutches. He literally can’t fight back until the people he cares about are safe and out of their reach.
PLEASE NOTE that these nobles have already killed him once – when the shitty prince used him as bait for their getaway. So he’s very familiar with the stakes. And has used clever means to get out of the prince’s party and also to get his mother back.
I doubt half the people complaining about the MC would be able to write a story half as entertaining.

She screwed up quite badly. Just say you still like him instead of power tripping. Other’s true personality will show when you’re in a moment of weakness. I understand that she was trying to force a connection, but the way she did so was quite crass. If it worked this time it would work again in the future. It would be an abusive relationship. MC was right to walk away.
Now wait for those tubbo’s to go to their sty/House, and then Meteor Storm the whole estate.
