Fucking wut bruh? The whole point of salt for the average medieval consumer is taste itself. The reason salt was so expensive at the time that it could even be used as a salary is that it’s so hard to acquire, but if the taste is bad, who the fuck would ever bother to buy it?
Also I know there are other uses for salt, like snow melting, food preservation and material processing, but in those cases taste has zero impact so why mention that at all?
