I play MMORPGs back then
(about 17yrs ago)

And a normal skill bar can have or you can only put about 10 active skills.
It may not be much today, but back then, you need to use skills for combo purposes.
There will always be a “skill” that can synchronize with other skills for extra damage
or!
If you’re skill(s) have some CC, like knock up, knock down, knock back, stagger, maim and Stun.
Even if they have low damage, as long as you can utilize them well, I assure you that everyone will both love and hate you.

Now back to the point, mc is hoarding skills or farming skills or whatever you call it,
I wanna see how he use them all, or will mc forget to use some of those said skills.
Or!! Mc will be like (in future chapters)
“Ah? I forgot I got this skill, I should’ve used it earlier”
