I assumed from this chapter that when agni said him and nix were “compatible” it meant that since nix is a phoenix if they were to ever “die” he could just pump her full of his flames and make her basically immortal. So when she was trying to die, it would show her collapse and then suddenly from the sky there would be a pillar of flame or something to instantly revive her, but instead we got nothing?
